Quickly open Camera Settings in iOS 13.1 using Shortcuts

Something I’ve long lamented about iOS’ Camera app is that so many of the controls are hidden away in the Settings app, such as changing file format, resolution and frames per second.

With the release of iOS 13.1, Federico Viticci of MacStories found that Apple reintroduced URLs to launch specific areas of the Settings app, including those for the Camera.

Much like the internet, iOS has system URLs that take you directly to certain parts of the operating system or apps..

These URLs will take you to exact locations inside the Settings app. You can launch this through the Shortcuts app, add an icon to you home screen, or launch it from the Shortcuts widget.

Federico has them all listed here, as well as information about how to make the shortcut. In addition to openIng the main Camera setting pages, there are URLs to specifically open settings for Video and Slo-Mo Video.

Here’s a link to the basic Camera Settings shortcut I made. While I still want most of these settings to be accessible within the actual Camera app, I’ll take this as a band-aid to help speed up the process.
